Permission to Need What You Need

If you’re considering a session, touch is likely a need you already know you have. Or one you’re curious about exploring.


Oxytocin, often called the bonding hormone, is released through gentle, consensual touch. But it isn't about touch alone. Oxytocin is also deeply tied to intimacy: to being seen, understood, and met with care. My favorite description of intimacy? Into me, see.


So, we begin there!


Each session begins with a check-in, summed up in a simple question: What do you need?


You get to choose the energy, the tone, and the style of touch AND presence that feels most supportive to you.


And if you’re not sure what you need, that’s completely okay too.


Most of us were never taught how to recognize our own needs. My own research suggested that the majority of adults struggle to identify what they’re feeling or what would actually support them in the moment.


So you never have to arrive with clarity.


You’re always welcome to say, “I don’t know.”


If that’s the case, I’ll simply attune, listen, and adjust, moment by moment, based on what your body language, energy, and/or words are communicating.


If you do want to explore your needs, I wholeheartedly welcome this. Learning what we need, and how to communicate it, is the foundation of meaningful connection. I love when these sessions can be more than just feel-good (though there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that); they can also help you connect more clearly and confidently in the world beyond this space.


Here are some examples of needs, and the kinds of support that may help meet them:


🪷 If you need comfort and reassurance

Nurturing, grounding, soothing support. For when you want to feel safe and cared for.


🌟 If you need to feel prioritized

Focused, attuned, undivided presence. For when you need to feel special and fully seen.


🌈 If you need lightness or play

Curious, spontaneous, playful energy. For when laughter, movement, or imagination feels more healing than stillness.


⚡ If you need help reconnecting with energy

Alive, encouraging, gently activating presence. For when you feel flat, stuck, or disconnected from momentum.


🔥 If you need to feel seen and defended

Validating, loyal, protective energy. For when you need someone who recognizes your worth clearly.


🧠 If you need help thinking something through

Reflective, grounded collaboration. For when you want to hear your own truth more clearly.


🌿 If you need loving perspective

Kind, honest, big-sister-style support. For when you want guidance without judgment or pressure.


💗 If you need to be heard without fixing

A soft, warm presence. Gentle nods. Quiet sounds. For when you just need someone to sit with you.


🌀 If you need a steady place for big emotions

Calm, grounded containment. For grief, tears, loneliness, and everything you’ve been holding alone.


😌 If you need quiet companionship

Very little talking. Shared presence. For when you’re overstimulated, tired, or emotionally full.


🪞 If you need to remember who you are

Warm witnessing and reflection. For when you feel “too much,” “not enough,” or quietly unsure of your worth.

These are simply reference points. Mix and match. Swap and adjust. There’s no wrong choice here because this is about you and what you need 🤍 .


You can always say things like:

  • “More talking / less talking”

  • “More sweetness / more intensity”

  • “More validation / more space”

  • “Softer / firmer / quieter / warmer”

  • “I need someone to sit with me”

  • “I need someone to believe in me right now”

  • “I need to cry and not be alone”


This is your session. You’re welcome to change your mind at a moment’s notice. I attune and adjust as we go.


In a world that constantly asks you to adapt, perform, and push through, this is a place where you don’t have to.


You don’t have to know exactly what you need. You don’t have to explain it perfectly. You don’t have to be “okay.”


We simply start with the question:


What do you need?
